Kathleen DeRosa-Lazare, D.O.

Dr. DeRosa-Lazare D.O. offers primary care for individuals of all ages uniquely integrating conventional, anthroposophic and osteopathic medicine.

Before attending The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine, Dr Lazare practiced as a Rhythmical Massage Therapist. She was cofounder of the Rhythmical Massage Association in North America and cofounder and faculty member of the School for Rhythmical Massage in North America. After 15 years she felt called to advance the work with her hands and deepen her understanding of the human being through anthroposophic and osteopathic medicine.

In Dr. Lazare strives to enhance each patients innate capacity for self healing through the combination of biographical conversation, using the hands for palpatory diagnosis and healing treatments, anthroposophic remedies and the use of conventional medicine when required.

Dr. Lazare is certified in Anthroposophic Medicine, Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy and Anthroposophical Constitutional Treatment of the Child. She is consultant to the faculty at Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School. Before cofounding and devoting herself full time to the growth of Collaborative Medical Arts she was medical director at Camphill Village Copake for 5 years, where she now consults. Dr. Lazare is a mentor to physicians in training for anthroposophic medicine and has medical students and residents observe in her practice. She is a member of The American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Osteopathy, New York State Osteopathic Medicine Association, Physicians Association for Anthroposophic Medicine and The Anthroposophic Healing Association.

Dr. Lazare offers primary care for all individuals, consultations for those who have another primary care physician, pediatric constitutional consults, Osteopathic Manual Medicine comprising of: the biodynamic approach to cranial osteopathy, muscle energy, balanced ligamentous tension and massage.

To create a picture of the person before her as a whole human being and to enhance the therapeutic approach, Dr. Lazare feels it it is essential to have a strong collaboration with her patients along with the collaboration with physicians and therapists.
